Sept 2009

The seson nears its end but we still rally to survive.

The fours of John Cowlin , Bryan Ogilvie , Phil campbell & Chris Sallows contested the E&D Semi - Final but lost out to a strong Brentham

of which 3 of their members also contested the Singles / Triples.


Proposed Greenshare 2010 Meeting took place Sept 21st with Represenatitves of both Pitshanger BC / ealing BC .awaiting response from Pitshanger Bowls Club.

The club Finals have been Completed.  (See Comps Reports for the finalists / Winners)

August 2009

Charter  Cup 2 games each with the same result.

1 Rink +   1 Rink -   the deficit being to grest to overcome.

Semi - Finalists of 4's after a Win at West Ealing

Very liitle of importance this month other than the Culling of the club byEaling Borough.

Consequently all games other than Internal competitions are played away.

Meeting with Council representative due Wednesday August 19th @ 19:00

June 2009

A month of indifferent results in both league & friendlies.

District knockouts got underway John Cowlin (Last years Runner - Up) in the District singles bowed out in a tight 20-21 defeat to

Chris Robertson (Brentham) at Cowgate Road.

The final Victory Shield game gave us our first Win against Ealing Conservatives. The home rink 14 - 21 but this was covered by a 14 shot win at Craven Road.

The 1-2-3 gives us 12 points with 2 games to play. John Cowlin winning all his Singles to date has been the most consistent.

29th & 30th May

Friday: Featherstone (H) (1.2.3.) Return Fixture 7 days on same result 4 - 4.

Win in the Singles & Triples Loss in the Pairs.

Saturday: Pitshanger (Home)

John Cowlin ,George Dennison , Fred Hale the only winners 22 - 11

This week see's the start of the Victory Shield West Ealing Wednesday Evening.

Then friendlies against Glaxo Saturday Home 14:30 Sunday Acton Park Away 15:00

22nd & 23rd May

Friday: Featherstone Away 1.2.3. League 4 points each in the first round ouf matches in this seasons competition.

Ealing Winning the Singles & Triples but losing out in the pairs.

Saturday: Ealing Conservatives Away in a 3 Rink Friendly.

John Cowlin's Team finished 18 all (6 Dropped in the last end to Ron Keeler)

Phil Campbell having been 14 - 3 down at the break came back to 16 - 19

Bryan Ogilvie finishing 12 - 17

This Friday the return fixture against Featherstone 1.2.3. at Cowgate Road whilst on Saturday Pitshanger visit in a 3 team Friendly.

16.05.09 V St Bernards (Home)

2 Home Games 2 Losses a 3 Triples match saw Ealing lose by 10 shots overall with One Winning side.

Steve Vass who lost by only One shot the week previous came up trumps with a 16 - 11 win against Chris Baker.

Judy Goold & Ted Reed aided the Win.

Bryan Ogilvie Lost 11 -19 , whilst John Cowlin lost by 7 shots 15- 22 against Geoff Harvey.

The Ealing & District 1.2.3. League starts this Friday with Ealing visiting Featherstone in the opener.

This Saturday Ealing Travel to Ealing Conservative in a Friendly.

09.05.08 V Featherstone Away

A successful visit to Wolf Fields saw Ealing win 3 out of 4 Matches.

Going into the final end 2 Shots up overall a tight finish saw Steve Vass claw back 3 shots to end 14 - 15. Against Rob Riggs

John Cowlin & Bryan Ogilvie had 2 shot Wins over Stan Brown & Don Pope Respectively

Whilst Phil Campbell ran out 19 - 14 over Brian Putnam's Rink.

This Saturday Ealing Host St Bernards in a Friendly.

 

03.05.09              V     Hayes (Home)

The First fixture of the new season saw Ealing go down by a 20 Shot Margin.

Credit goes to Bryan Ogilvie who despite being 13 – 0 down came back to a respectable 14 – 18.

John Cowlin was the only winning rink on the day with a 17 – 14 success over Hayes Captain S. Connor.

The 3rd rink skipped by Phil Campbell suffered the heaviest loss going down 7 – 26.

This Saturday Ealing travel to Featherstone in a Friendly.
